Since opening its doors in 1941, Indiana University (IU) Auditorium has served as a university and community gathering place, hosting a diverse array of world-class artists, entertainers, musicians, and lecturers in its 3,200-seat theatre. As the leading performing arts organization in South Central Indiana in terms of quality, leadership, innovation, and overall guest satisfaction, IU Auditorium exists to create world-class arts and event experiences at Indiana University. In addition to the wide variety of arts and entertainment events, the Auditorium continues to serve as the community's gathering place, hosting a variety of university ceremonies, orientation programs, conferences, weddings, and special events.
Job Summary
  • Greets and directs patrons at events
  • Creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests
  • Monitors guest ingress and egress, seats guests, and assesses and resolves minor guest concerns
  • Assists with crowd management and line control
  • Ensures safe and memorable guest experiences
  • Assists guests with complaints or concerns; escalates concerns to supervisor when necessary
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
  • Sales or customer service experience
SKILLS

  • Demonstrates outstanding customer service and communication skills

Working Conditions / Demands
The person in this position must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time and move through a multi-level facility. The person in this role must be able to move up to 10 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Work Hours
Shift times vary, maximum of 29 hours per week, depending on events schedule (this includes other IU positions). Additionally, this will be a position for Summer 2026.
