Job description

Job Description: Summer Group Leader
Department: Adventures Program
Work Schedule: Tentative camp dates: June 2nd - July 27th. Subject to change based on MISD School Calendar for the 2025-2026 school year
Hours: Approximately 8:30am-4:30pm (typically 8 hours per day), Monday - Friday
Position Summary/Duties:






  • Directly supervise a group of children
  • Conduct activities and character development practices with children according to the program schedule
  • Ensure children's safety, manage children's behavior and act as a role model and mentor
  • Ensure maintenance and appropriate use of all building facilities, resources, supplies and equipment with care and pride; including organization, cleanliness and daily set-up/take-down of the program area
  • Maintain positive relations with children, parents and co-workers
  • Attend and participate in special events, staff meetings and staff trainings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Experience working with school-age children in a day camp or similar setting highly preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, children, and parents
  • Ability to plan and conduct age-appropriate activities including, but not limited to: outdoor/indoor games, songs, skits, crafts, and educational activities
