Job description

Transform Lives Through Communication in the Heart of the Midwest - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us
Overview
Imagine taking a pivotal role in the lives of others through the power of speech and language. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic city of Indianapolis, your everyday work will extend well beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders; you will be a vital force in helping individuals unlock their potential, rejuvenate their self-esteem, and nurture the connections that define us as human beings-supporting everyone from enthusiastic toddlers learning to articulate their first sounds to cherished seniors on the path to regaining their independence.
This position invites you to engage with a rich tapestry of clientele across various ages within a setting that harmoniously combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether you have an affinity for nurturing pediatric language skills, exploring adult neurogenic conditions, or guiding geriatric patients through cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you will find purpose and balance in your work here.
Description
  • Assess patients throughout the pediatric, adult, and geriatric spectrum using established evaluation methods and observational techniques.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate objectives while addressing long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions designed to improve communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to implement comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and their families to facilitate ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments as needed, ensuring consistent care throughout the recovery journey.
  • Keep meticulous documentation in accordance with state, federal, and institutional mandates.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in the field through continuous education and peer networking.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices across all age groups, with a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to personalize therapy methods to align with various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with electronic health records and documentation processes.
Benefits
  • Attractive salary aligned with experience and expertise.
  • Flexible working hours to promote a healthy work-life balance and diverse caseloads.
  • Opportunities for specialization in pediatric care, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric services.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • Collaborative team environment emphasizing quality care and lifelong learning.

A Journey That Inspires-And Moves You
In this role, you won't merely provide therapy; you will weave yourself into a tapestry of a community that cherishes communication, facilitates connection, and celebrates the remarkable simplicity of human interaction: understanding one another.
You will join a team of compassionate professionals who cultivate a familial atmosphere, where collaboration is valued over competition. Every patient arrives with a narrative; we trust you to help shape how that story unfolds.
Why Indianapolis Will Captivate Your Heart and Mind
Indianapolis offers a vibrant lifestyle that harmonizes heritage and modernity, rich culture, and endless opportunities. Renowned for its spirited arts scene, this city encourages exploration, whether it's attending a performance at the world-class theater or strolling through the Museum District filled with eclectic exhibits. Outdoors enthusiasts can revel in the extensive parks and the scenic Central Canal, perfect for cycling or leisurely walks, while food lovers indulge in local fairs or award-winning restaurants offering a true taste of Midwestern hospitality.
Families gather in the historic neighborhoods, where a summer evening means street festivals and farmer's markets, while fun-seekers can catch a game at a local sports venue, celebrating the city's love for athletics. Job seekers will find great perks beyond lifestyle, such as a low cost of living, no state income tax, and a burgeoning healthcare landscape that fosters career growth and stability.
Whether you are setting out on your professional adventure or are a seasoned expert ready to broaden your horizons, you will discover ample opportunities to flourish both personally and professionally in this thriving community.
Who We're Seeking
We invite a Speech Language Pathologist who is inspired not just by tangible results but by the essence of empathy. Someone who observes a quiet child and envisions a symphony of self-expression, who recognizes a stroke survivor's slurred words and perceives the determination beneath.
Whether you're a pediatric specialist yearning to broaden your reach into adult care or a neuro-focused clinician eager to integrate early interventions, your passion is what we seek.
If you are poised to serve with compassion and guide with expertise, we are here to welcome you warmly.
Let's Craft Meaningful Conversations-Together
If you believe in the transformative power of speech and understand that therapy goes beyond mere tasks-if you recognize the importance of building trust while working toward goals and the joy that comes with shared laughter-then this opportunity might just be the perfect next step in your career journey.
Join us in a community that celebrates connection and the courage to inspire others to find their voices. Apply now to contribute your talents and make a profound impact on the lives of those we serve.
