Summer House on the Lake will be open daily for lunch and dinner service, with weekend brunch available Saturdays and Sundays to follow after opening. The California-inspired menu is reminiscent of the overall Summer House brand and includes simple, seasonal ingredients specific to the local Florida market. The full-service restaurant will also include three outdoor patios with one area overlooking Lake Buena Vista, an in-house bakery counter called The Cookie Bar featuring the brand's famous cookies and baked goods, and an extensive wine and handcrafted cocktail list that offers a selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic to-go drinks on-tap that can be enjoyed around Disney Springs property. Pastry Cook Job Description

Pastry Cooks are responsiblefor assisting in the preparation, production and presentation of baked goods,pastries and/or desserts.

EssentialFunctions

  • Prepare, produce and presentpastries/baked goods and/or desserts according to prescribed recipes and/orspecial requests
  • Availableto work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
  • Safely and effectively use andoperate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives
  • Ability to effectivelycommunicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written andspoken direction
  • Ability to multi-task calmlyand effectively in a busy, stressful environment
  • Work in a confined, crowdedspace of variable noise and temperature levels
  • Able to move and lift up to 10pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally moveand/or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk foran entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which mayinclude stairs, uneven or slick surfaces

KeyResponsibilities and Duties

  • Follow all prescribedportioning controls and par levels
  • Maintain food safety andquality standards
  • Ability to read a thermometercorrectly and efficiently
  • Communicate any food delays orissues to Coordinator
  • Maintain menu item counts andcommunicate to Management and service staff when quantities fall belowrestaurant specific minimum quantity
  • Accurately account for allitems coming out of the station
  • Understand and follow the foodallergy procedure and special orders/restrictions
  • Comply with all safety andsanitation guidelines and procedures
  • Follow all rules, policies,procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in theEmployee Handbook
  • Get along well with others andbe a team player
  • Other duties will be assignedas needed
