Kitchen/Caffe Equipment Maintenance Technician

Apple's Facilities Caffe Maintenance Services team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Caffe Maintenance Technician to provide supplemental support for our Austin-based facilities. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the operational efficiency and maximum uptime of our Caffe facilities by performing preventative and ongoing maintenance on essential mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and cooking systems. You will work in close coordination with the existing Apple site maintenance team, responding swiftly to equipment irregularities, malfunctions, and emergency situations to maintain a seamless experience for our employees.

Description

In this role you will: Execute preventative maintenance activities on a diverse range of Caffe equipment to ensure longevity, optimal performance, and minimal disruption to business operations. Perform accurate and timely completion of work order requests, documenting all actions taken. Provide essential refrigeration repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance for Caffe equipment. Diagnose and repair various Caffe equipment malfunctions, ensuring quick and effective resolution. Conduct continuous equipment monitoring to identify potential issues before they escalate. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of Caffe facilities, including all non-critical building systems. Properly implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment. Act as a vendor escort, providing support and oversight for project and task-related activities. Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations that could impact Caffe operations, coordinating with other maintenance professionals as needed. Comply with all organizational and governmental standards for operations, safety, and environmental regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience with kitchen equipment repair or appliance repair
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, specifically with mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and cooking systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex equipment issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in kitchen maintenance, 2+ years in refrigeration maintenance, universal refrigerant EPA certified.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively coordinating with colleagues and vendors.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for documenting work and interacting with team members.
  • A proactive approach to maintenance, with a focus on preventative measures.
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, which may include lifting, bending, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration, electrical).
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume commercial kitchen or Caffe environment.
  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) or similar monitoring platforms.
