About the Position
Hospitality Project Staff at Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GSWW) support camp programs, events, and guest services by providing engaging activities and operational support for Girl Scouts and other camp visitors. Based primarily at Camp River Ranch in Carnation, WA, this role assists with program facilitation, event support, and hospitality operations across GSWW camp properties as needed. Responsibilities may include leading outdoor and indoor program activities, assisting with group check-in and check-out, maintaining program areas and equipment, and supporting camp operations during programs and events. This role offers hands-on experience leading youth activities, working outdoors, and supporting memorable camp and event experiences for Girl Scouts and community groups.
This is a seasonal position that supports programs during the spring and fall seasons for up to 19 hours per week, with potential for full-time hours during peak summer months (July-August). Most shifts occur Wednesday through Sunday based on program needs.
Work is conducted primarily at Camp River Ranch in Carnation, WA, with occasional support provided at other GSWW camp properties throughout Western Washington as needed. Residency within reasonable proximity to Camp River Ranch is required. This is a non-benefited position (except those required by law) with a starting wage of $21.30 per hour.

Requirements
What You'll Do
Program Facilitation:
- Prepares and leads engaging, age-appropriate camp activities in assigned program areas that support camper development objectives.
- Facilitates programs for participants of various ages and skill levels in both indoor and outdoor camp environments, often in variable weather conditions.
- Leads activities in program areas such as archery, boating, arts and crafts, and other assigned camp program areas when trained and certified.
Hospitality and Camp Support:
- Assists with the check-in and check-out of rental groups as directed by the Supervisor, Hospitality Operations.
- Provides support during guest programs and events, including hosting, event support, and assisting with event set-up, cleaning, and reset of camp spaces and facilities to ensure spaces remain safe and ready for use.
- Provides weekend hosting and on-site coverage as requested.
Program Area Maintenance and Safety:
- Maintains clean, organized, and well-stocked program areas and ensures appropriate care and use of program equipment during activities.
- Follows and upholds GSWW policies and procedures to ensure a physically and emotionally safe camp environment.
- Communicates clearly with supervising staff regarding safety, maintenance, and program needs.
Administrative and Team Responsibilities:
- Completes required documentation in a timely manner, including incident reports, evaluations, usage logs, equipment requests, and timesheets.
- Models professionalism, positive communication, punctuality, and adherence to camp policies and expectations.

What You'll Need
Education and Experience Required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current certification and/or experience leading one or more of the following: archery, ropes courses, lifeguarding, kayaking, canoeing, boating, stand-up paddleboarding, arts and crafts, songs and games, or food service.
Other Required Qualifications
- Must reside within our Council region of Western Washington, with preference for those within reasonable driving proximity of Camp River Ranch in Carnation, WA.
- Valid Washington State driver's license, consistent access to a reliable vehicle, proof of insurance, and the ability to fulfill travel requirements across widespread regional geography as necessary.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on program needs, with most work occurring Wednesday through Sunday and including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to reliably report to scheduled shifts and communicate availability and scheduling conflicts in advance in accordance with GSWW staffing expectations.
- Washington State Food Worker Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain through GSWW within 90 days of hire.
- Satisfactory results from a criminal background check.
- Willingness to maintain Girl Scout membership.
