Job description

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has an opening in theElectrical and Computer Engineering Department as an Administrative Assistant.We have been ranked No. 1 among U.S. engineering colleges by the U.S. News& World Report Best Colleges Guide for the last 27 consecutive years.

The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensiveadministrative and operational support to the Electrical and ComputerEngineering Department, serving as a primary point of contact for faculty,staff, students, and visitors. This role manages departmental communications,records, and office operations; coordinates meetings, travel, events, facultysearches, and other activities; and serves as a resource on departmental anduniversity policies and procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining websitesand departmental resources, supporting budget and payment processes, assistingwith student employee administration, and coordinating specialized functionssuch as accreditation activities, student awards, course pre-registration,professional development tracking, summer programs, and administrative supportfor research programs, competition teams, and departmental projects. Theposition performs additional duties as assigned to support departmental andinstitutional objectives.

Qualified candidates will have an associate degree andthree to five years of professional work experience. Varyingeducation/experience may be considered in lieu of the other.

Preferred candidates will have higher educationexperience; excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellentinterpersonal and customer service skills; advanced skills in Microsoft OfficeSuite or related software; ability to learn and adapt to new processes andsystems; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; advancedunderstanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping andfiling; and the ability to work independently.

Pay range is 19.23 - 21.63 (or 40,000 - 45,000annually). Pay is competitive. A higher pay may be negotiated based onexperience and qualifications.
