General Description

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Field Service Electrician will provide electrical and technical service to customers including inspections, maintenance, service, repairs, rebuilds, electrical troubleshooting, and upgrades to all types of Blast equipment.

Location: Remote, anywhere in the United States

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Layout and install wiring circuits in conformance with established codes.
  2. Ensure safe working practices, especially with electrical work.
  3. Read and interpret electrical schematics to wire machines and panels.
  4. Complete conduit bending: EMT & RMC.
  5. Troubleshoot electrical issues in house and in the field on all new and used equipment.
  6. Installation and start-up of new equipment.
  1. Provide inspections and follow-up reports, including the completion of all documentation in a timely manner.
  1. Responsible for expense reporting weekly.
  2. Support the Sales staff and act as a resource for new product offerings.
  3. Provide training to customers on equipment.
  4. Ability to travel 80% of the week, mostly driving, including overnight.
  5. Ability to work extremely flexible hours and weekends as required to support the customer.
  6. Helps drive and support BCTโ€™s Culture and Core Values.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical standards and codes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conduit bending.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools properly.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to achieve results.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman or Master Electricianโ€™s license, or five to seven years of related experience in high voltage electrical work.
  • Experience with PLCโ€™s, control systems, and root cause analysis is a plus.

This position requires regular driving. All prospective employees must have a valid, unexpired driver's license. will be required to undergo a physical evaluation. An "Unacceptable" driver is any driver whose Motor Vehicle Report includes any of the following violations (during the most recent 3 year period unless otherwise stated):

โ€ข Felony involving the use of a motor vehicle
โ€ข Speeding 20 or more over the posted speed limit
โ€ข Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DWI/DUI) in the last five years
โ€ข Driving with an open container
โ€ข Driving with a suspended or fraudulent license
โ€ข Reckless driving
โ€ข Passing a stopped school bus
โ€ข Leaving the scene of an accident (hit and run)
โ€ข Vehicular homicide/manslaughter
โ€ข Aggravated assault with a motor vehicle
โ€ข Eluding a police officer
โ€ข Drag racing
โ€ข Operating a motor vehicle without the ownerโ€™s permission (grand theft auto)
โ€ข Permitting an unlicensed or intoxicated driver to drive
โ€ข 3 or more moving violations in the last 3 years. This includes:
-Speeding less than 20 mph above the speed limit
- Operating while registration is suspended
- Failure to yield right-of-way
- Careless or inattentive driving (including texting or cell phone use)
- Running a red light or stop sign
- Improper or excessive lane changes
โ€ข 2 or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the last year.
