Job description

Smart Commercial Construction Co. is a design-build commercial construction company committed to delivering high-quality projects with a focus on client satisfaction. Since our founding in 2013, we’ve bridged the gap between commercial and residential construction with precision and attention to detail. Our trim carpenters play a crucial role in creating polished finishes, from hanging cabinets to installing baseboards, trim, and other detailed carpentry work that adds the final touches to our projects.

PAY & WAGE STRUCTURE:

Trim carpenters are full-time, year-round employees compensated on an hourly basis, with rates ranging from $18 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and work ethic. Each individual's unique abilities are recognized, and this range may not reflect current employees' exact compensation.

PERKS & BENEFITS:

We prioritize the well-being and professional development of our team members with a comprehensive benefits package. This includes paid time off, holidays, parental leave, and health coverage (group health, dental, and vision insurance). We also provide financial security benefits such as a 401k with company match, accident insurance, critical illness coverage, short- and long-term disability insurance, and life insurance. Additionally, we offer employee referral bonuses, a boot allowance, and foster team atmosphere through company events like Christmas parties and summer gatherings. Opportunities for internal advancement ensure career growth and stability.

HOURS & SHIFTS:

Trim carpenters can expect a standard work week of 40-45 hours, Monday through Friday. Most projects are located within Sioux Falls to minimize travel time and maintain a work-life balance. When travel is necessary, it is compensated, and additional overtime hours are available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Install cabinets, baseboards, crown molding, doors, and other finishing elements with precision.

  • Operate hand and power tools to complete detailed carpentry tasks safely and efficiently.

  • Read blueprints or drawings to understand project specifications and execute finish work according to plan.

  • Work collaboratively with other trades to ensure seamless project completion.

  • Solve on-site challenges with creativity and adaptability, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and a commitment to high-quality work while meeting deadlines.

  • Possess a strong work ethic, with punctuality and consistent attendance.

  • Maintain a friendly attitude, high level of customer service, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check is required.
