Job description

The Northeast YMCA - Vickrey Ctr. is NOW on the lookout for great Summer Camp Counselors for our 5-12 Year Olds (Kidz & PreTeen Camps) and 13-15 Year Olds (Teens On Mission Camp)!! If you are at least 18 years or older, able to pass a Level 2 background screening, drug screening and love working with children in a camp environment, this may be the job for you! We are looking for individuals to engage and interact with our children and have fun leading them in camp songs, indoor/outdoor games, STEAM projects, adventures, and other Summer camp activities. Individuals must love children and be willing & able to stand and walk a lot to interact with children and attend the upcoming mandatory Summer Camp training on May 8th (Teambuilding), 9th (CPR.1st Aid & Child Abuse Training), May 15th (Teambuilding), and the 16th (Working with Children with Special Needs in Summer Camp & Meet the Counselor Event).

Shift times may include: M-F 7:00am - 1:00pm, 12:00pm- 6:00pm, and a middle shift with varying hours.

Pay is between $14.50 and $15.25 per hour for group counselors, $15.00 to $16.00 for Lead Counselors and Instructors (Music & Outdoor), and $16.00 to $16.25 for Camp Coordinators, with special consideration for those with previous Summer Camp experiences.
