Job Summary
North Coast Design Build is seeking a skilled Construction AutoCAD Project Draftsman to produce accurate, detailed technical drawings for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with in-house lead project designer and engineer, to translate concepts, redlines, and field conditions into high-quality construction documents. You will follow company CAD guidelines for all processes, including naming conventions, data storage, and layout standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Create and revise AutoCAD drawings including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, structural
and framing details, and MEP drawings.
• Convert sketches, markups, and PDFs into accurate CAD files.
• Coordinate drawings with the lead project designer and in-house engineer, and project managers.
• Maintain organized CAD files and drawing logs.
• Assist with permit, bid, and construction documents.
• Update drawings based on field conditions and RFIs.
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
 
Required Qualifications
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting required; 3D a plus).
• Understanding of construction methods, materials, and terminology.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil and MEP drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects as well as work closely with other project designers.
• Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in commercial or residential construction.
• Previous experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar software
• Knowledge of local permitting and inspection processes.
• Field experience or construction background.
