As a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op at SPX Cincinnati Fan, you have the potential to take part in a multi-rotation program with an emphasis in design and manufacturing processes. This unique experience offers an opportunity to learn the different facets of a business with multiple semester rotations.

What you can expect in each of these rotations (Job Responsibilities)

Design Engineering Role

  • Provide support with a focus on engineering changes
  • Aid in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Advance product documentation in the engineering department
  • Generate bills of material, implementing updates
  • Design and model new products using 3D and 2D CAD
  • Introduction to technical applications between engineering, manufacturing, and sales

 

Manufacturing Engineering Role

  • Primarily assigned to work in the day to day operations of Manufacturing and Quality departments
  • Provide support on continuous improvement projects in manufacturing processes
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and documentation to ensure adherence to ISO 9001
  • Assist, as needed, with and 2D CAD drawing
  • Potential work with robotic welding, CNC machining, welding and/or laser cutting processes

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  • Able to clearly articulate data and information between departments
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to clearly present technical information
  • Must have the ability to work independently or in teams, be able to prioritize own work, and meet agreed timelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in 3D modeling (prefer Inventor) and use 2D AutoCAD
  • Safety oriented, placing safety as priority in all work performed

 

Education & Certifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Technology
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher
