Job description

RN - 4N Medical Unit
Full-Time, 36 hrs/week, 7a-7:30p, every other weekend/holiday
Summa Health System - Akron Campus
A dynamic medical unit caring for a blended-acuity patient population, with a strong focus on cardiac telemetry and acute-on-chronic conditions. Nurses care for patients with a wide range of medical needs - from stable, routine medical management to complex patients requiring close monitoring, frequent assessment, and rapid clinical intervention.
The unit provides valuable experience with cardiac rhythms, chest pain, heart failure, respiratory conditions, diabetes, renal disease, infection, and other complex medical diagnoses, while emphasizing early recognition of patient deterioration and timely escalation of care. Because patients often present with multiple comorbidities and changing clinical needs, nurses develop strong assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills.
This environment truly helps you become a well-rounded nurse - building versatility, clinical judgment, adaptability, and confidence across a broad spectrum of patient conditions. It's an excellent setting for nurses who want to strengthen their foundational skills, become comfortable managing competing priorities, and develop the ability to care for whatever walks through the door.
