Print Operations Lead (Austin, TX - Arlington, TX)
Literati is a modern children's book company focused on building reading skills so kids can grow to be their best selves. We make it easy to find books kids love through school book fairs and book clubs using a unique mix of expert curation and data science. We're on a mission to help parents ignite a love of learning and a love of life.
As a Print Operations Lead, you'll play a key role in putting together Literati experiences for young readers all over the country.You'll produce high-quality printed materials for Book Clubs, Book Fairs, Sales, Creative, and other cross-functional projects, ensuring every piece meets our quality standards. This role also includes operating printing, finishing, and mailing equipment, as well as supporting warehouse operations by assembling subscription materials, packing boxes, and jumping in wherever needed. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and a proactive, team-first mindset.
The starting rate for this position is $22/hr.
Our warehouse is the heart of our company. It's home to thousands of wonderful books, murals, and of course forklifts, pallets, and snacks.
What You'll Do...
• Operation of production level printing & mailing equipment
• Operation of mailing inserters and envelope printing equipment
• Assist with preflight and layout setup for jobs as needed
• Operation and programing of hydraulic guillotine cutters
• Performs basic maintenance and troubleshooting of on-site equipment - includes but not limited to; clearing jams; loading paper; replacing toner and/or staple cartridges; etc.
• Requests equipment service calls as needed
• Assists with monthly inventory counts
• Assists in opening/closing site under management supervision
• Properly distribute completed print jobs to fulfillment center
• Practices company's quality standards
• Estimate print and labor costs of proposed print assets
• Completes monthly reports on volumes and billing
Current Equipment...
• (2) Ricoh Pro C7500 production printers with in-line saddlestitchers
• Duplo 616 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser
• Triumph 7260 Cutter
What You Need...
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of high-volume print shop or equivalent experience preferred
• Knowledge of spreadsheets preferred (Google Sheets)
• Experience with Fiery, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe CC preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Must be able to perform light to medium lifting including cases of paper (up to 60 lbs.) and push wheeled carts and/or dollies; large amount of time spent standing.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a high-pressure work environment with a variety of different personnel
