A Day in the Life of a Sub-Investigator

As a Sub-Investigator, you'll play a key role in supporting the Principal Investigator and clinical research team in running safe, compliant, and high-quality clinical trials. You'll conduct physical exams, review patient histories and diagnostic results, and help ensure every participant receives excellent care throughout the study. Your clinical expertise will directly contribute to the integrity and success of ongoing research studies.


Responsibilities include:

  • Performing and documenting physical exams on clinical trial participants
  • Reviewing and assessing lab results, ECGs, and medical histories
  • Providing medical oversight in accordance with study protocols and GCP guidelines
  • Collaborating with the Principal Investigator and research team to maintain protocol compliance and high standards of care
  • Maintaining accurate, complete source documentation


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 1 + years of Sub-Investigator or clinical research experience
  • Active and unrestricted PA or NP license in the state of Utah
  • PA or NP degree/schooling and experience
  • Prior experience performing physicals
  • Prior experience interpreting EKGs
  • Ability to work on-site, Monday–Friday, 8–5 MST
  • Strong attention to detail and professional integrity
