Job description

One Planet Studio

About

We are looking for a founder-type leader to build and lead a new joint venture deploying a proven cleantech solution in the built environment.

This is a Managing Director role with co-founder-level responsibility and upside. You will take full ownership of developing the venture in your market โ€” from commercial traction to team building โ€” while building on an already validated, revenue-generating business model.

The joint venture is developed in partnership with One Planet Studio and established technology partners, providing access to a proven solution, strategic support, and structured financing to enable deployment and growth.

Your role is to translate this into a successful local business and establish a leading position in the market.

Your Responsibilities

You will have end-to-end ownership of the venture across commercial, operational, and strategic domains:

  • Translate a proven international model into a scalable local business.
  • Adapt the value proposition to market needs and customer feedback.
  • Identify growth opportunities and expansion pathways.
  • Build a strong and defensible market position.
  • Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing local team.
  • Define roles, KPIs, and performance management systems.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, execution, and impact.
  • Support and lead fundraising efforts with business angels, strategic investors, and partners.
  • Develop financial models and multi-year business plans.
  • Manage budgets, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Work closely with One Planet Studio and financial stakeholders.
Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the early stages.
  • Build scalable processes and operational structures.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of products and services.
  • Coordinate with technology and industrial partners.
Legal & Governance
  • Support the structuring of the joint venture.
  • Oversee key contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations.
What You Bring

We are looking for a builder with commercial drive โ€” someone who combines entrepreneurial ownership with execution power.

Experience
  • 4โ€“8+ years of experience in business development, entrepreneurship, or startup environments.
  • Proven track record in building or scaling a business, unit, or market.
  • Experience in B2B environments (cleantech, industrial, energy, mobility, construction, or related sectors is a strong plus).
  • Experience with fundraising or investor interactions is a plus.
  • Founder mindset โ€“ you take ownership, make decisions, and drive outcomes.
  • Commercial instinct โ€“ you know how to generate revenue and close deals.
  • Hands-on execution โ€“ you are pragmatic and get things done.
  • Resilient and adaptable โ€“ you are comfortable operating in uncertainty.
  • Strong communicator โ€“ able to engage customers, partners, and investors.
  • Mission-driven โ€“ motivated to accelerate decarbonization of the built environment.
Other
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent experience.
What We Offer

A unique opportunity to build and lead a company with strong backing:

  • A co-founder-level role in a new joint venture.
  • Access to a proven business model and international partners.
  • Support from One Planet Studio in strategy, finance, and venture building.
  • Access to a strong network of investors, industry leaders, and experts.
  • Initial funding support and assistance in raising additional capital.
  • Competitive compensation (mix of fixed + variable).
  • Significant equity / stock options with clear upside potential.
