Position Summary:

A Client Service Specialist is the primary support of the relationship manager who is the client facing representative of the bank whose responsibility it is to solicit commercial clients and their principals for their banking product needs and then coordinate with the appropriate Studio Bank staff in the delivery and service of those products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides service directly to clients on their deposit, treasury management, loan and other banking products.
  • Provides service indirectly to clients per requests by relationship managers.
  • Regularly monitors and acts upon routine bank issues including daily overdraft reports, loan past dues, overdrawn accounts, maturing loans, deposit and loan exceptions, etc.
  • Maintains an understanding of banking regulations and bank policies and procedures while handling client service duties.
  • While interacting with clients, being mindful of product and service sales opportunities and proactively sell these directly to the client or bring them to the attention of the relationship manager.
  • Sets up commercial loan files, responsible for maintaining department files in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Works with relationship managers, loan processors, and third-party professionals (attorneys, appraisers, inspectors, etc.) in order to close loans in conformity with approved terms and conditions.
  • Reviews all loan documents prior to closing to ensure that they will cover the intended collateral and document the borrower's and guarantor's obligations to the bank.
  • Performs procedures related to loan advances, pay downs, and disbursement process.
  • Reviews documentation of commercial and consumer loan closings.
  • Conducts regular and routine department assessments to ensure departmental controls, policies, and procedures are achieving accurate and desired results.
  • Interacts with auditors, examiners, compliance team, and legal team to assist in Bank reviews and examinations.
  • Proactively implements clean-up procedures and corresponding changes when necessary and as appropriate.
  • Follows-up and corrects any items addressed and ensures necessary changes or recommendations have been implemented as directed in a timely manner.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills both with external contacts and other bank employees
  • Thorough knowledge of the bank's deposit and loan products
  • Thorough knowledge of the loan operating system (training to be provided by the bank)
  • General knowledge of loan documentation and the various types of company organizational documentation

Essential Experience:

  • At a minimum should have two years of banking experience.
  • Experience with bank operating systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least five years banking experience
  • At least two years of experience supporting one or multiple commercial bankers by opening deposit accounts, managing the loan origination process, and providing routine client services related to deposit, treasury management and loan products,
  • At least two years of experience with direct contact with clients.

Essential Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college in a Business Administration discipline is preferred.

  • Flexibility to deal with changing work hours and locations as needed.
