Description
General Job Brief
In support of the University's mission, the Graduate Assistant - Student Experience for Student Life assists the Office of Student Development in coordinating a variety of services and programs to enhance student life on campus. This position will support the development, coordination, and enhancement of student engagement initiatives, programs, and services aimed at fostering a positive student experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student development, possess strong communication skills, and be eager to contribute to the overall success of student life on campus. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Development & Spiritual Formation
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing student experience events, including orientation, workshops, campus traditions, chapel offerings, and leadership development programs.
  • Support the Spiritual Life team with logistics, communications, and special events such as prayer nights or discipleship groups.
  • Model and promote spiritual maturity consistent with biblical principles and ACU's Statement of Faith.

2. Student Leadership & Engagement
  • Provide support to student leaders, organizations, clubs, and campus programs, including advising student leaders and helping to foster student involvement as directed.
  • Lead 1:1's with student leaders and team meetings as assigned.

3. Game Day Experience & Hospitality
  • Assist in creating a welcoming, high-energy game day environment by overseeing fan engagement, event presentation, and premium hospitality areas.
  • Coordinate logistics, staff, and in-game experiences to ensure guests, recruits, and VIPs receive exceptional service that reflects the program's culture and enhances overall game day atmosphere.

4. Student Support & Resources
  • Serve as a point of contact for students seeking resources related to campus life, student involvement, and academic support services.
  • Provide general guidance to students navigating campus resources and student life opportunities

5. Assessment & Reporting
  • Assist in collecting feedback from students, staff, and faculty to evaluate the effectiveness of Student Life programs and services.
  • Support the analysis and reporting of data to assess student engagement and program success.

6. Administrative Support
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, such as chapel classroom functions, club renewals, peer mentorship forms, billing, maintaining student databases, and preparing reports.
  • Help manage office hours, respond to student inquiries, and contribute to maintaining a welcoming and efficient office environment.

7. Collaboration & Teamwork
  • Work collaboratively with staff members, other campus departments, and student organizations to enhance the overall student experience.
  • Participate in department meetings, student staff training, and professional development opportunities.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, may be asked on a volunteer basis.
  • Commitment to the University's faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
  • Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
  • The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
  • Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.

  • Demonstrated interest in student development, spiritual formation, campus programming, and/or student affairs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with event planning, student leadership, and/or social media management is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and social media platforms.
  • Must have a flexible schedule to attend events during evenings and weekends as necessary.
