Job description

The New School is looking for enthusiastic, outgoing students to join our team as Student Assistants within the University Welcome Center. Our Student Assistants facilitate in-person campus tours and participate in virtual programs and events designed to help prospective students and their families learn more about The New School's academic programs, social life, and application requirements. They also serve as a first point of contact for visitors to campus as receptionists staffing the Welcome Center front desk and contribute content to the Welcome Center Instagram account, online admitted student communities, and New School Parent and Family Hub.
Responsibilities:
  • Acting as representatives of the university, warmly welcoming all campus visitors and establishing a quality first impression.
  • Displaying pride and passion for The New School
  • Maintaining up-to-date information about our academic programs, student services, and admission requirements
  • Consistently representing themselves and the university in a genuine, professional, and inclusive manner.

Hourly Rate: The rate for this position is $19/hr.
Work Mode: Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. #LI-DNI
