Job description

The mission of Democracy Prep Public Schools is to educate responsible citizen scholars for success in a college of their choice and a life of active citizenship. Core to achieving this mission is the aspect of parent choice. Our Student Recruitment Manager designs and executes the student recruitment tactics and community outreach work needed to fill seats for the ten schools in the Democracy Prep network. With a strong understanding of the communities where Democracy Prep operates, the Student Recruitment Manager implements efforts to find families to apply to, and register in, our schools.

  • You are an organized manager that utilizes your recruiting expertise to lead a team of canvassers to excellent outcomes that support our network's enrollment goals
  • You are a strong communicator (written and oral) who adapts to fit the needs of the audience in order to build a sense of shared purpose and progress forward.
  • You bring maturity, humility, a strong work ethic, and a sense of humor to DPPS
  • You have the ability to reflect on data from diverse sources and build recommendations for adjustment where necessary
  • You have experience in community organizing, marketing, and charter school student recruiting and enrollment (preferred) and are a graduate of a Bachelor's degree program (required).

What You'll Do: 

  • Lead team of Democracy Prep canvassers, overseeing team management along with the coaching and development of teammates in service of meeting ambitious student recruitment goals
  • Analyze data to ensure that canvassing strategies are as effective as possible and allow the team to maximize the number of families that enroll at Democracy Prep
  • Identify and attend community events and opportunities in designated areas to meet families and students for the purpose of recruiting students to attend Democracy Prep Public Schools
  • Represent Democracy Prep Public Schools in recruiting efforts at youth centers, community events, and other related organizations
  • Identify high-impact enrollment partnerships with childcare centers or other community organizations
  • Meet with prospective students and parents to promote Democracy Prep Public Schools in our schools' respective communities
  • Research community outreach events and recruitment opportunities to promote Democracy Prep Public Schools
  • Participate in canvassing efforts in strategic locations for the purpose of recruiting students to attend Democracy Prep Public Schools
  • Coordinate logistics for school recruitment events (i.e., tours, open houses, summer events, etc.)
  • Engage in student recruitment phone calls by calling families that have expressed interest in enrolling a student in Democracy Prep Public Schools for the purpose of answering questions and giving information about how and when families can engage with the school and staff
  • Complete enrollment forms for families as needed
  • Participate in and lead other student recruitment-related tasks, and manage canvassing teams to complete recruitment-related tasks (including tasks mentioned above)

Ideal candidate:

  • Graduate of a Bachelor's degree program
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in enrollment management, canvassing, or related field
  • Proven track record of successfully leading enrollment strategies and achieving targets
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams
  • Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive enrollment strategies aligned with organization's goals
  • Experience in analyzing enrollment trends and leveraging data for strategic decision making
  • In depth knowledge of recruitment best practices
  • Experience in designing and executing effective student enrollment campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred

Compensation

Salary range is $80,000 - $90,000 commensurate with your experience. Democracy Prep employees are provided with a benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, 403B matching, parental leave, a smartphone, and a laptop.
