Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Interventional Radiology Tech, you will provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department, performing high-quality images and exams, while serving as a role model and clinical resource to ensure current standards of practice.
Every day you will perform interventional radiology procedures with precision, maintain sensitivity to patient needs, strictly follow safe radiation practices, and act as a clinical resource to unit personnel, upholding the highest standards of imaging excellence.
To be successful in this role, you will possess current Interventional Radiology licensure/certification, exceptional technical skills in advanced imaging procedures, a strong commitment to patient safety and compassionate care, and the ability to serve as a leader and resource within the medical imaging unit.

  • Performs imaging procedures, providing safety for self, patients, and all other individuals.
  • Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA).
  • Produces quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Prepares patient for exam.
  • Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition. Communicates in writing and verbally with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum of care.

PRN- 15% PRN differential applies!

Schedule: PRN- five shifts per six week scheduling period. On call required. 30 minute callback radius applies.

$4.75/hr specialty differential applies.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Radiology Technologist R.T. (R) (ARRT)
  • Registered Radiology Technologist Vascular-Interventional Radiology R.T. (R)(VI)(ARRT) or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology R.T. (R)(CV)(ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • Colorado Surgical Assistant or Surgical Tech Registry (through the Department of Regulatory Agencies) upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only).

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree
  • One (1) year imaging experience
  • Advances Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association

Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprised of Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St Francis Hospital - Interquest. St. Francis Hospital opened in 2008 to keep pace with the growing needs of the Colorado Springs’ community on the north side of the city. St. Francis Hospital features 340-beds and offers a modern Birth Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Cancer Center, Emergency Department, Level III Trauma Center, Imaging Services, Acute Inpatient Rehab, Surgical Services and Critical Care Unit. It also serves as southern Colorado’s home base for the Flight For Life® Colorado air medical transport service.
