Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Life or designee, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of student programs, and for training and assessment initiatives offered on the campuses of the College.

Compensation: This position offers a competitive starting rate ranging from $52,000 - $55,000.

Supervisory Role
Oral and written instructions are received from the Director of Student Life or designee. The Program Coordinator may supervise support staff and student workers.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Coordinate the development, scheduling, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive, co-curricular activities programs geared towards enhancing the overall cognitive, social and emotional development of students.
2. Coordinate and advise student organization programming. Collaborate with and provide support to campus departments and student clubs/organizations involved in student programming.
3. Coordinate the sponsored events, programs, services and activities of Student Life and Activities ensuring the smooth operation from planning through execution. Coordination includes venue logistics, catering, decorations, displays, audio and visual, advertising, and other related tasks and activities.
4. Coordinate the development and distribution of the college activities calendar and publicity materials relating to Student Life & Activities.
5. Coordinate and assist with the development of the Student Orientation programs for the academic year. Development and implement an on-line orientation component.
6. Coordinate training seminars for student officers and advisors aimed at improving club effectiveness and to facilitate the planning and implementation of programs.
7. Assist with monitoring the department's budget providing accurate recordkeeping of expenditures requested and incurred.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality and security of student, staff and program records.
9. Monitor and maintain SLAO social media accounts.
10. Assist in the development and distribution of graphics for all student clubs.
11. Prepare routine, special and ancillary reports as required.
12. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities
1. Bachelor's Degree.
2. Experience in event planning, student activities or related areas, preferably in a college setting.
3. Working knowledge of computer software applications, preferably the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
4. Working knowledge of graphic design software, preferably Adobe photoshop, Canva or equivalent.
5. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, manage competing priorities and work under pressure in a complex setting.
6. Demonstrated ability to interact both professionally and effectively with students, staff and non-staff members of the college community.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
9. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities
1. Working knowledge of podcasting and audio and visual editing for social media platforms.
2. Bachelor's degree in education, Psychology, Recreation or related area.
3. Two or more years' experience planning student activities at a college university.
4. Knowledge of group process and leadership development.
5. Must demonstrate a high degree of reliability and flexibility.
