Job description

Student Ministry Residency

The Student Ministry Resident supports and enhances the ministry to the Junior High and High School students at each of our six campuses. They work under the leadership of the Campus Pastor and the Student Ministry Pastor.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in character, passion, commitment to Christ and His Word, and genuine love and care for people.
  • Provide encouragement and support to the rest of the Student Ministry Team.
  • Help create a collaborative and encouraging environment for both the paid staff and the volunteers who support the ministry.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings for the Student Ministry team.
  • Following the lead of the Student Ministry Pastor, understand and share the Ministrys vision and purpose with others.
  • Assist in developing solid relationships with parents and other interested adults, to encourage them to be involved in the Student Ministry.
  • Help in the recruiting and training of volunteers to help support the ministry.
  • Provide teaching on Wednesday or Sunday mornings as requested.
  • Attend regularly scheduled Ministry Residents/Internship meetings throughout the year.

Specific Weekly Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with all of the Student Ministry Team to provide strong organizational and logistical support.
  • Help provide activities and events geared for Junior High and High School students.
  • Meet regularly with students for the purpose of discipleship, helping them grow in their faith relationship with God.
  • As opportunities arise, share your faith with students and adults.
  • Participate in the Student Ministry staff meetings.
  • Follow-up with first time guests and MIA students.
  • As requested, meet with parents and other interested adults to encourage them and provide a healthy connection to the Student Ministry.
  • Joining the other Student Ministry staff, be on campus as much as possible.
  • Meet with your Student Ministry Pastor and other leaders to determine and support campus-level activities and events.
  • Work with the Student Ministry Team in coordinating plans for Sunday mornings and LIVE on Wednesday nights.
  • Speak as requested on Sundays and Wednesdays.
  • Connect with current volunteers to encourage, support, and equip them to be effective in their work.
  • Provide leadership and planning for the events and activities of the Student Ministry.
  • Work with the Global Student Ministry Team to build the ministry at all six of our campuses.
