The Organization


Element Church exists to help people learn and live the Way of Jesus together. The church is passionate about authentic community, spiritual formation, and everyday discipleship centered on Jesus.


Element Church is seeking a relational, spiritually mature, and engaging Student Ministry Director to lead and shape the vision, culture, and discipleship strategy for students in grades 7โ€“12. This leader will play a key role in helping students encounter Jesus, grow deep roots in their faith, and actively live out the Way of Jesus within their schools, families, church, and community.


The Position


The Student Ministry Director will oversee Fusion, Element Churchโ€™s student ministry, and lead the strategy for discipling middle and high school students through compelling weekly gatherings, smaller discussion environments, intentional leadership development, and opportunities for students to serve and grow. This individual will report directly to the Executive Pastor and oversee the Student Ministry Resident.


Element desires a ministry strategy that includes:

  • A compelling weekly student gathering
  • Smaller discussion and discipleship environments
  • Quarterly and semi-annual events
  • Meaningful one-on-one connection between students and adult leaders


The Student Ministry Director will evaluate and strengthen existing programming while bringing personal strengths, creativity, and leadership to the ministry.


Responsibilities


Leadership Development

  • Recruit, equip, and develop a strong volunteer leadership team
  • Foster a culture of initiative, discipleship, character, and relational investment among leaders
  • Build a volunteer environment marked by gratitude, joy, encouragement, and teamwork
  • Empower leaders to confidently communicate and model the Way of Jesus to students

Student Ministry Programming

  • Lead compelling weekly gatherings that include biblical teaching, worship, hospitality, and fun
  • Develop smaller discipleship and discussion-based environments where students can be known personally
  • Create engaging quarterly and semi-annual events that build community and spiritual growth
  • Cultivate a worship culture that helps students encounter Jesus authentically

Discipleship & Outreach

  • Invite students into salvation, baptism, and deeper discipleship
  • Help students grow spiritually and develop ownership of their faith
  • Build opportunities for students to serve their peers, the church, and the surrounding community
  • Invest relationally in students and families both inside and outside formal ministry settings


All staff members at Element Church are expected to:

  • Maintain God-ordained priorities by putting Jesus first, spouse second (if applicable), children third (if applicable), and ministry fourth
  • Live out Element Churchโ€™s Community Rule of Life and embody staff culture markers
  • Protect the unity, vision, and mission of Element Church
  • Pray regularly for the ministry and those being served
  • Personally invest in reaching people who do not yet know Jesus


Qualifications


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in pastoral ministry or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience leading students, volunteers, or discipleship environments
  • Strong biblical teaching and communication skills
  • Passion for student ministry and relational discipleship
  • Ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteers effectively
  • Emotionally healthy, spiritually mature, and aligned with the mission and culture of Element Church
  • Creative, proactive, and energized by building engaging ministry environments


Compensation & Schedule


  • Full-time
  • $45,000- 50,000
  • Approximately 45 hours per week, including evening and weekend ministry responsibilities
