Job description

Lighthouse Mission Ministries seeks a part-time intern to help the Advancement Team in all aspects of advancement for the Lighthouse Mission, including fundraising, event-planning, donor relations and marketing communications.


Compensation: $1000 stipend upon successful completion.

*Please note: since this position is eligible to receive a stipend, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.


Time Commitment: 12-16 hours per week (or variable for credit) during Summer Quarter 2026 (6/23/26-8/21/26). Internship is set to begin the first week starting of the Summer Quarter, ending August 21st, 2026.


Internship Shadowing and Tasks Description:

  • Help assist with event planning and implementation, fundraising, & coordinating in-kind gifts
  • Help assist with gathering photo and video content, plus possible video production
  • Help curate, create, and schedule social media posts
  • Help review and edit direct mail appeals and newsletters
  • Help interview guests and staff
  • Help plan out, design, and schedule weekly emails
  • Involvement in fundraising strategy, planning, and evaluation discussions
  • Help assist with writing and editing thank you letters, cards, blog posts, and make calls to donors
  • Help assist with donation processing, data entry and receipting
  • Help manage online information pertaining to events and volunteering
  • Help facilitate on-boarding process and interest meetings with volunteers
  • Attend weekly Advancement department meeting if schedule allows


Preferred skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Writing
  • Graphic design, video editing, photography is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Ability to give and receive feedback
  • Organization


Organizational Relationships: Intern will be supervised by the Chief of Advancement, and will work in-office alongside staff in the Advancement Department.


Qualifications: This internship is open to any college or university students seeking work experience for academic credit. Preference for candidates with an area of study of personal passion for marketing and communication. The internship is not an offer of employment- either during the course of the internship or a promise of employment afterwards. In recognition of the intern's efforts and costs, LMM is pleased to offer a $1,000 stipend payment paid in a lump sum following the successful completion of the internship and performance reviews. Interns, in accordance with LMM policies, may be subject to a pre-volunteer background check.
