Department of Biochemistry
Lab Assistant- Student Worker
List of Duties
The Lab Assistant will support research laboratories in the Department of Biochemistry by:
1. Maintaining stocks ofclean laboratory glassware; this will include collecting glassware from individual laboratories, loading and unloading a Sterislaboratory glassware washer and sterilizer, and delivering clean glassware back to their home laboratories.
2. Sterilizing laboratory equipment, supplies, and materials, using Steris autoclaves.
3. Preparing media for cell culture; this includes preparing solutions and may involve autoclaving to sterilize the prepared media.
4. This position does require Lab Safety Training
This position will be from May 11th - August 21st. The student will be working around 10 hours a week.
Wage range for this position is: $12.22 - $12.65
