Summary of Position: Under the direction of supervisors, independently perform/coordinate responsible support functions which may focus on a specialized area(s) of student services, such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration, etc. Communicate and perform duties in a manner that provide excellent service and is responsive to customer needs. Provide responsible, independent complex, record keeping, and/or accounting support. Provide administrative support for Ferris State University's Admissions Department. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions Recruitment and will be located at the KCAD/Ferris GR location. This position will require the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as events are scheduled.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Required Work Experience: At least two years of work experience performing similar administrative support and demonstrating organizational skills.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Knowledge and experience in Banner and CRM platform.
Work experience in higher education, preference for specific experience in Admissions, Student Services, or similar department.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Support the Associate Director of Admissions Processes with daily operations of the Admissions Office for Ferris State University.
Manage student application materials and related admissions requirements, including the review of transcripts, test scores, and other documentation. This also includes overseeing and maintaining the Slideroom application platform.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Admissions Regional Recruitment.
Understand and utilize CRM platform functionality to identify necessary processing enhancements within the admissions process.
Provide general office support, including assisting in the admissions email inbox, answering phone inquiries, and assisting walk-in guests.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with FERPA and all relevant laws, policies, and procedures, performing duties with a high degree of accuracy and discretion.
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws.
Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically.
Supports, promotes, and develops university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Perform any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Perform accurate and timely data entry into the university's Banner system.
Be cross-trained in other specialized areas within Student Affairs as needed.
Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Willingness and ability to learn new data systems, platforms, and software tools.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated flexibility and interest in performing a wide variety of tasks in a dynamic environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet established deadlines.
Demonstrated successful experience working directly with people from diverse backgrounds, including cultural, educational, socioeconomic, and life experiences.
Demonstrated strong computer, proofreading, and grammar skills, with attention to detail.
