We are searching for an experienced Title IX Coordinator and Student Affairs Case Manager at our Goldsmith Campus - Westchester campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Title IX Coordinator and Student Affairs Case Manager provides leadership in ensuring the College's compliance with federal and state laws while promoting a safe, equitable, and inclusive learning environment. This position serves as the institution's designated Title IX Coordinator, responding to reports of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and bias, while also providing non-clinical case management and student support services through the Division of Student Affairs. Working collaboratively across Student Affairs, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Campus Safety, Student Health and Wellness Center, and other campus partners, this position ensures equitable access to institutional resources, coordinates supportive measures, facilitates student success, and promotes a culture of accountability, care, and compliance. This position serves as a central resource for student advocacy and institutional compliance, and supports the college's behavioral intervention team (CARE Team) through ongoing case management. As a member of a small college community, this role requires a highly collaborative professional who can build trusted relationships, balance compliance responsibilities with compassionate student support, and contribute to a culture of creativity, respect, and accountability. By integrating Title IX and student case management, the College strengthens its ability to respond proactively to student needs, ensure equitable access, foster a safe and inclusive campus environment, and support student persistence and success. This position reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs.
CORE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position builds relationships with faculty, students, and staff to support their information needs in a variety of ways:
Title IX and Compliance (40%)
• Serve as the College's designated Title IX Coordinator.
• Manage compliance with Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), the Clery Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, and other applicable federal and state laws and other relevant regulations in partnership with Human Resources and other departments as needed.
• Receive and assess student reports of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, dating violence, domestic violence, retaliation, and related concerns.
• Coordinate institutional responses to reports involving Title IX (sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking), protected class discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bias incidents, and other complaints
• Coordinate supportive measures for students, faculty, and other members of the campus community.
• Conduct or oversee prompt, equitable, and impartial student complaint resolution processes.
• Coordinate investigations with internal and external investigators regarding student issues.
• Monitor compliance with Title IX, VAWA, Clery, ADA Section 504, FERPA, and applicable California regulations.
• Maintain confidential student case records and documentation.
• Prepare annual reports and compliance metrics.
• Review and recommend updates to policies and procedures as part of the Policy Committee.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Campus Safety, Student Affairs, Disability Services, and outside agencies as appropriate.
• Coordinate annual campus-wide notices, prevention programming, and mandatory training related to assigned areas of responsibility.
• Advises and provides instruction to faculty to ensure compliance in the classroom in partnership with the Dean of Academic Affairs.
• Collaborate with faculty as it pertains to supporting students with accommodations and contributing to their faculty development goals
• Communicate timely and effectively around all matters involving Title IX reports, ensuring anyone who is reporting an allegation is being addressed promptly, ensuring there is transparency and clarity throughout the Title IX reporting process for all parties involved to the extent possible.
• Working with our third-party vendor to coordinate any external investigations related to Title IX or ADA/Section 504.
• Conduct intake meetings and coordinate the review and resolution of ADA/Section 504 complaints involving students, in collaboration with Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and other campus partners as appropriate.
• Monitor institutional compliance, in partnership with Operations and Human Resources, with ADA and Section 504 policies, procedures, and accessibility standards.
Case Management (35%)
• Serve as the primary Student Affairs Case Manager for students experiencing academic, behavioral, personal, or wellness-related concerns.
• Serve as an active member of the College's CARE Team.
• Coordinate the College's response to student complaints and grievances alleging disability discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or failure to provide equal access.
• Provide case management support for processes involving student accountability and support, and/or behavioral intervention, support the work of the CARE Team, Student Conduct Processes, and Bias Incident Response Team. Support threat assessment, student welfare interventions, and coordinated crisis response efforts.
• Provide expertise related to student support, accessibility, and compliance in complex or sensitive situations.
• Coordinate outreach and follow-up with students through a case management lens.
• Develop individualized student support plans.
• Connect students with campus and community resources.
• Monitor student progress and coordinate ongoing interventions in communication with the Dean of Student Affairs.
• Collaborate with Counseling Services, Student Health Services,
Disability Services, Residence Life, Student Conduct, Academic Affairs, and Campus Safety on matters where their input is needed.
• In collaboration with the Dean of Student Affairs, support students experiencing crisis, hospitalization, or other significant life events.
• Maintain detailed, accurate records and institutional reports pertaining to students of concern, student conduct, bias incidents, and ADA 504 complaints.
• Maintain records of ADA/Section 504 complaints, resolutions, and compliance activities, and prepare required reports.
Prevention Education and Training (10%)
• Develop and deliver training programs for faculty, staff, and students on: Title IX policies and reporting responsibilities, Mandated reporting obligations, Bystander Intervention training
• Promote awareness of campus resources and foster a culture of care, compliance, and inclusion.
• Provide training for all student leaders around bystander intervention, Title IX, ADA, Section 504, disability rights, and accessibility.
Leadership & Collaboration (5%)
• Partner with Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Campus Safety and Security, and the Division of Student Affairs to ensure coordinated and effective responses.
• Advise VPSA and senior leadership on policy development, risk management, and emerging issues.
• Attend the student leaders' retreat and support retreat planning with other colleagues.
• Lead in the implementation of the Bystander intervention program to proactively educate students, staff, and faculty.
• Serve as a resource to faculty, staff, and administrators on student disability-related compliance
• Review institutional policies, practices, and procedures to identify accessibility barriers and recommend corrective actions.
Professional Development (5%)
• Engage in professional development opportunities (training, certifications, conferences, etc.) to actively maintain compliance and remain up to date on state and federal laws.
• Stay informed of evolving federal and state laws, regulations, and best practices related to Title IX, disability access, and civil rights compliance.
Assessment & Administration (5%)
• Maintain accurate records and institutional reporting.
• Assess overall services, student outcomes, and the delivery of services for students engaging in any of our processes where they are being case-managed.
• Analyze trends and recommend improvements.
• Assist with policy development and compliance reviews.
• Participate in institutional committees as assigned.
• Prepare annual assessment reports.
Required Qualifications:
REQUIRED SKILLS and EDUCATION: (Non-negotiable; minimum requirements, skills, experience, certifications)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in Student
Affairs, Title IX, Civil Rights, Student Conduct, Behavioral Intervention Case Management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of: Title IX Regulations, VAWA, Clery Act, FERPA, ADA/Section 504, Civil Rights law
• Experience successfully managing highly confidential and sensitive information.
