POSITION SUMMARY

Woodstock Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Elementary Classroom Teacher for the 20262027 school year. The successful candidate will foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and leadership development of every student. Woodstock Public Schools is committed to continuous improvement, high expectations for all learners, and developing the whole child. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for building strong relationships, utilizing data to inform instruction, collaborating with colleagues, and ensuring all students achieve growth and success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction aligned with Connecticut Core Standards and district curriculum.
  • Create a positive classroom culture that promotes student engagement, leadership, responsibility, and a growth mindset.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and advanced learners.
  • Utilize assessment data, including district and classroom-based measures, to monitor progress, identify student needs, and inform instructional decisions.
  • Implement evidence-based instructional practices in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.
  • Establish clear expectations, routines, and procedures that support a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, interventionists, specialists, and support staff to ensure student success.
  • Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), data team meetings, and district professional development.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with families regarding student progress, learning goals, and classroom activities.
