We are looking for an Associate, Structured FInance to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to Vice President, Structured Finance and based in San Jose CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.
Location: San Jose, CA (On site)
Team: Structured Finance
The Opportunity
The Structured Finance Associate sits at the center of Bloom's growth engine, helping turn complex, capital-intensive energy deployments into closed financings. You'll work through the project lifecycle - from model build and structuring through diligence, negotiations, and close. Because of the team's central role within the organization, teammates regularly step in as the Structured Finance on company wide strategic initiatives.
This role is designed for high caliber, early career finance professionals seeking hands-on exposure to project and structured finance, investor and customer negotiations, and the opportunity to help build a scalable execution platform.
What You'll Do
Financial Modeling & Analysis
  • Build and own complex project and portfolio level models, including sensitivities and scenario analysis.
  • Evaluate returns, cash flows, and capital structure trade-offs across debt, tax equity, sponsor equity, and customer economics.
  • Develop pricing and structuring analyses that inform commercial strategy and investment decisions.

Transaction Execution & Deal Support
  • Execution across the full transaction lifecycle: early customer negotiations, structuring, diligence, and capital raising
  • Create critical deal collateral (sensitivity packages, diligence materials, executive summaries, and ad-hoc analysis as needed) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own process rigor by managing closing checklists, diligence logs, and timelines to keep deals moving

Investor & Counterparty Engagement
  • Develop investor facing collateral, including deal presentations, data room content, and diligence materials.
  • Support negotiations with key external stakeholders (investors, lenders, and customers)

Cross Functional- Projects
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Accounting, Treasury, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations on critical strategic projects that drive commercial decision making

Market & Strategic Exposure
  • Scout and evaluate new markets, financing structures, and evolving investor requirements
  • Gain front row exposure to mission critical deployments across customer segments, including data centers, healthcare, manufacturing, and other critical infrastructure.

Development & Growth
This role will start execution heavy and quickly expand into broader ownership across deal phases as you demonstrate judgment, speed, and attention to detail. Strong performers often rotate across responsibilities within Structured Finance and explore adjacent opportunities as Bloom continues to scale, with advancement driven by impact and accountability.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Background
  • 2-5 years of experience in project finance, structured finance, investment banking, private equity, renewable energy finance, or other infrastructure finance.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining complex financial models used in live transactions
  • Strong academic credentials from a top tier- college or university.

Skills & Attributes
  • Exceptional analytical horsepower is critical, as the group is often presented with open-ended problems that lack clear or immediate answers; teammates who enjoy this type of work tend to thrive in the role
  • Ability to run multiple workstreams, hit deadlines, and deliver high-quality output in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to distill complex finance into clear, executive ready language
  • High integrity, high ownership, and bias to action.

Culture Fit
  • Motivated by building a scaled, disciplined execution platform that wins in the market
  • Intellectually curious, resilient under pressure, and energized by steep learning curves
  • Collaborative, low ego, and great to work with: serious about outcomes, grounded in how you get there
