Job description

They are looking for someone with about 80% engineering to 20% PM experience currently. The manager would like to see a structured cabling engineer with project management experience as a plus. The first time around we were seeing more PM candidates that knew structured cabling.

(RCDD cert is a plus)

High level scope of Senior resource services

  • Be an extension to GTI structured cabling team onsite at 237 Park Ave (or another site close to 237 Park Ave)
  • Dedicated to the team (flexible to attend ad hoc meetings if required including weekends/overtime)
  • Subject matter expert in the field
  • Attend site walks, meetings as required
  • Document and issue field observation reports
  • Ensure telecom infrastructure installation aligns with BICSE/TIA/local codes and GTI structured cabling standards
  • Attend construction and coordination meetings between Architectural, MEP, AV, Security, Smart Building(IoT), WiFi, DAS, Auxiliary Radio Communications, Vertical Transport
  • Develop tracker updates, port matrixes
  • Review/analyze telecom bids
  • Coordinate meetings between different teams for coordination/reviews
  • Review RFIs responses by design telecom consultants
  • Review Telecom design documents and issue comments (via PDF markups, log tracker)
  • Ensure design aligns with GTI structured cabling standards

Construction Administration

  • Site walks as needed
  • Document and issue field observation reports
  • Ensure telecom infrastructure installation aligns with BICSE/TIA/local codes and GTI structured cabling standards
  • Attend construction and coordination meetings between Architectural, MEP, AV, Security, Smart Building(IoT), WiFi, DAS, Auxiliary Radio Communications, Vertical Transport
  • Review RFIs responses by Telecom design consultants
  • Close out documents supervision
  • JPMC shell ready, room ready & production ready checklist signoffs
  • JPMC pull patch schedule completed by low voltage contractor
  • Fiber/Copper test results
  • As built drawing (Revit/CAD/PDFs)
  • Warranty and certification documentation
