Job description

Fitter / Welder - Structural Steel
$20/hr to $30/hr Depending On Experience (DOE)
Essential duties for our Structural Welder / Fitter team:
  • Work positively within a team environment to ensure quality, efficient and safe production
  • Accurately interpret structural steel drawings
  • Understands steel fabrication with the ability to layout and mark material to be cut, welded, or have additional members added
  • Safely load and unload equipment with material either manually and through the use of an overhead crane or magnet
  • Uses tools of trade effectively (grinders, mag drills, track torch, air arc)
  • Perform daily cleaning of machines and housekeeping of work areas
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance of assigned tools and equipment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to pass Welder certification test using FCAW and/or GMAW Spray mode transfers in the 3G and/or 4G Position .
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience.
  • Proficient with tape measure and measuring instruments.
  • Knows proper use of hand held torch and plasma arc.
  • Ability to stand long periods of time, including reaching, climbing over material
  • Proficient in layout, reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings and other company documents
