Core Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management
  • Lead structural engineering projects from concept development through construction administration
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing requirements, and client expectations
  • Serve as the primary structural point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and consultants
  • Ensure successful project delivery while maintaining technical excellence and profitability

Structural Engineering & Design
  • Design and analyze structural systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and light-gauge steel
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents
  • Direct BIM and CAD production efforts to ensure accuracy, coordination, and constructability
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, standards, and project requirements

Multi-Disciplinary Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams
  • Coordinate project requirements with permitting agencies, building officials, and regulatory authorities
  • Resolve technical challenges while maintaining project schedules and design integrity

Mentorship & Team Development
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and project leadership
  • Support staff development through training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and professional development efforts as the team grows

Operational & Strategic Contributions
  • Participate in leadership development initiatives and process improvement efforts
  • Contribute to quality assurance and quality control programs

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a Structural emphasis
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive structural engineering experience within the building design industry
  • Software: Proficiency with RISA-3D or similar structural analysis software
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and light-gauge steel design
  • Codes & Standards: Comprehensive understanding of IBC and applicable structural design standards
  • Communication: Strong project management, leadership, and client-facing communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Leadership Experience: Previous mentoring, project leadership, or team management experience
