Position Overview
The AES Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to support one of our clients on large-scale industrial facility projects.
This role requires strong experience in the analysis and design of structural steel and reinforced concrete systems. The ideal candidate will have worked on gas processing plants, LNG facilities, liquid terminals, chemical plants, or bulk material handling operations.
The selected engineer will collaborate with designers, drafters, project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to develop safe, code-compliant, and constructible structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review structural steel and reinforced concrete calculations, designs, and analyses.
  • Design pipe racks, cable tray racks, equipment supports, foundations, platforms, and related industrial structures.
  • Develop engineering sketches and provide technical direction for 3D models and construction drawings.
  • Review calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and project documentation for quality and accuracy.
  • Perform field observations, condition assessments, measurements, and documentation of existing facilities.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, piping, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Serve as Lead Engineer when required, supervising engineers and designers.
  • Identify design challenges and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering specialization.
  • Minimum 6 years of structural engineering experience in industrial facilities.
  • Strong experience designing structural steel and reinforced concrete systems.
  • Experience with gas plants, LNG facilities, liquid terminals, chemical plants, or bulk material handling facilities.
  • Proficiency with STAAD.Pro or comparable structural analysis software.
  • Knowledge of AISC 360, ACI 318, ASCE 7, and the International Building Code.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
