This role is responsible for performing finite element analysis, structural substantiation, compliance verification, and coordination with cross-functional engineering teams to support aircraft certification and product development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and document structural analysis for aircraft interiors and systems components
Create, validate, and analyze Finite Element Models (FEM) from 3D CAD models using appropriate modeling assumptions
Conduct linear and nonlinear static analysis of composite panels, inserts, metal brackets, fittings, adhesive joints, and related structures
Perform classical hand calculations and structural substantiation analysis
Identify and predict potential structural failure modes and support corrective actions
Review engineering drawings and assemblies to demonstrate substantiation through analysis, testing, or similarity methods
Coordinate with design engineering, stress analysis, allowable groups, and interfacing commodity teams to support structural development activities
Support certification compliance activities related to FAA and EASA requirements
Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and engineering problem resolution activities
Required Skills
Experience with linear and nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA)
Strong understanding of structural behavior, load paths, and statics principles
Experience using classical, empirical, and finite element structural analysis methods
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D CAD models
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering
Experience with HyperMesh, HyperView, NASTRAN, and PATRAN
Experience with durability, fail-safe, and damage tolerance analysis
