Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Physical Therapists in executing tailored treatment plans aimed at enhancing patients' mobility, strength, and overall physical health.
  • Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and techniques—such as stretches, adaptive sports activities, and functional mobility drills—to promote recovery while providing crucial emotional support.
  • Educate patients about proper body mechanics and exercise techniques, and instruct them on at-home exercise programs that support their rehabilitation goals.
  • Administer various therapeutic modalities including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, ensuring safe and effective application.
  • Document and monitor patient progress meticulously, tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and overall functional ability as part of ongoing care evaluations.
  • Prepare treatment areas and maintain organization of therapy equipment and supplies to ensure readiness for patient sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with a diverse interdisciplinary team, which includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes.
  • Provide compassionate support that encourages patients during their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive and motivating atmosphere.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and respect for patient rights.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele includes a diverse range of patients, from children experiencing developmental challenges to older adults recovering from surgeries or managing chronic conditions. We value individualized care that addresses the unique situations of each patient, recognizing that their physical and emotional well-being are interconnected components of a successful rehabilitation process.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, along with a valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and various therapeutic interventions related to physical therapy is essential.
  • Proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the guidance of a supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with patients and effectively collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care is crucial, as is the ability to adapt treatment plans to suit varying patient populations.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management competencies. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying well-informed of advancements in the field of physical therapy.
Preferred Experience

Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment, particularly in rehabilitation or outpatient settings, is advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation practices is preferred to streamline communication and record-keeping processes.
