Job description


Summary

We are representing a mechanical contractor seeking a Project Manager with strong experience in HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems. This role involves leading project execution from concept through closeout, coordinating internal departments, and managing field labor. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a background in both technical operations and client relationship management. Plumbing and process piping experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and the client throughout the project lifecycle

  • Manage all phases of project delivery, including engineering, estimating, procurement, and final execution

  • Oversee field labor coordination and installation sequencing with field supervisors

  • Handle financial forecasting and cost tracking, and ensure projects remain within budget

  • Draft proposals, change orders, contracts, and strategic plans to support project objectives

  • Monitor billing and job costs for financial transparency and accuracy

Client & Team Collaboration

  • Lead client meetings and guide contract development to close sales opportunities

  • Maintain strong working relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and partners

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing, Service, and Field Operations to ensure seamless execution

  • Participate in strategic and technical planning efforts to support team growth and estimating best practices

Communication & Leadership

  • Participate in weekly sales and construction meetings

  • Coordinate and lead project kickoff sessions with internal and field teams

  • Leverage internal resources to meet client expectations and project milestones

  • Mentor team members and support ongoing training, hiring, and development initiatives

  • Contribute to special projects as directed by leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC and mechanical project management, including estimating and field coordination

  • Proven experience managing projects ranging from $50K to $25M+

  • Plumbing and process piping experience highly preferred

  • Ability to manage projects independently while supporting team goals

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related software platforms
