Your new responsibilities
As the Product Manager, Business Development for Professional Series Off-Road Lighting, you will own the product line end-to-end: from strategy and roadmap through launch, commercialization, and P&L performance. You will pair the rigor of product management with the curiosity and drive of business development, turning market insight into winning products and the channel partnerships that scale them. As part of the North America Product Line Management team, you will work with cross-functional partners across the US, Germany, and China to shape roadmaps, build partnerships, and achieve revenue and margin targets. Success in this role comes from strong commercial and analytical instincts, a genuine interest in the off-road market, and the drive to move products from concept to market.
  • Product Line Ownership & P&L: Own the full lifecycle and P&L for the Professional Series lightbar and light pod portfolio including pricing, margin, positioning, and profitability.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape across off-road, overland, powersports, and work-truck segments.
  • Business Strategy: Develop and execute business development plans aligned with company goals and backed by clear analysis and rationale. Identify new business opportunities, shape market-entry strategies, and leverage your network to gain a competitive edge.
  • Product Development: Partner closely with product management and engineering teams (US, EU, and China) to drive development of innovative off-road products, and ensure they meet market demands and exceed customer expectations.
  • Channel & Partner Development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing accounts while actively pursuing new partnerships across distribution partners, distributors, retailers, installers, jobbers, and OE / upfit channels. Understand partner requirements and present tailored lighting solutions that demonstrate the value of SYLVANIA's Professional Series products.
  • Sales Performance: Lead the commercial process from prospecting to deal closure. Prepare compelling presentations, proposals, and negotiations that showcase the unique benefits of our products, and own the numbers against revenue and margin targets.
  • Marketing Support: Work with marketing to research, plan, and execute successful product launches and promotional campaigns. Align on messaging, content, and go-to-market materials that communicate product value to new and existing customers.
  • Sales & Business Analytics: Own and maintain the business case and financial models for the portfolio. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data in Excel and BI tools, and provide regular reporting to management; use insights to refine strategy and optimize results.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams through the product line's priorities and share your expertise with colleagues along the way. Influence and align stakeholders across functions and geographies without direct authority.

Who we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in product management and/or business development, ideally within the automotive off-road, powersports, overland, or accessories / performance industry - experience with off-road lighting products is a plus.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership, with a track record of growing revenue and margin for a product or product line.
  • Experience with new / innovative product development and managing products from concept to launch.
  • Strong analytical skills, with solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, pricing, and business-case analysis.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, channel partners, and customers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ERP and CRM software.
