Job description

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manager

Please Note: Candidates must have procurement leadership experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Applicants without manufacturing procurement experience will not be considered.


Location: St. Louis, MO

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 DOE


Our client, a well-established industrial manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manager to lead company-wide procurement, supplier management, and purchasing operations while overseeing a small Aftermarket Services team. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the COO and is best suited for professionals with experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for direct and indirect materials.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, RFQs/RFPs, and contract administration.
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships.
  • Drive cost savings while maintaining quality and delivery performance.
  • Oversee purchasing activities from requisition through receipt.
  • Monitor inventory and supply chain performance.
  • Lead the Aftermarket Services team, including inventory, parts fulfillment, and customer support.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Service.
  • Manage department KPIs, budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience negotiating supplier contracts and managing vendor performance.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience using ERP purchasing and inventory systems.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.


Preferred

  • Metals, aluminum, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Aftermarket parts or spare parts management.
  • CPSM, CSCP, or similar certification.
