Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Salary Range: $71,250 to $93,000

THE PURCHASING TEAM
Cupertino Electric's Purchasing Team manages all equipment and materials purchases for both job sites and corporate expenditures. This includes vetting vendors and establishing and maintaining relationships with new and loyal suppliers.
ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a highly experienced Sr Purchasing Agent. This person will handle the entire procurement cycle of materials, rentals, consumables, and sub-contracts. This includes sourcing, planning, purchasing, delivering, and returning materials for project needs. As part of the purchasing team, the person will research, examine, and evaluate supply sources and material acquisitions per government FAR & DOD regulations. The person will work closely with core Project teams to manage high visibility and high-value programs. They will apply purchasing skills to ensure timely and efficient execution of Cupertino's projects.
  • Process requisitions and issuing purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Develop and manage internal customers' relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers for assigned purchases.
  • Establish positive relationship with suppliers.
  • Maintain a Purchasing Status Report.
  • Follow established procedures and processes to manage job assignments.
  • Partner with Project Engineers, General supervisors, and Superintendents. Develop a list of tools, consumables, and supplies needed to construct the job.
  • Be an effective member of project team to influence purchasing selections.
  • Provide weekly status reports/updates to management.
  • Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities.

ABOUT YOU
You possess technical competency in construction equipment and have a good understanding of the dynamics of the industry. You bring a wide range of skills including excellent project management, facilitation, and communication skills. You have experience exercising good business judgment and are confident in tapping into your analytical thinking skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that, in the sole judgment and discretion of Company, would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications may qualify.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: CPSM Desired
Experience: Five (5) to Ten (10) years of increasing procurement experience related to purchasing electrical material. Must have working knowledge and proven experience directly related to FAR acquisition policies and procedures.
