Job Summary and Qualifications The Strategic Account Manager role has primary responsibility in supporting accounts in Extended Care, large ASC groups and our most strategic independent groups. Strives for maintaining and building strategic partnerships in our member base. Oversight of the onboarding, implementation, and overall account health maintenance of our members. Responsible for delivering best in class service to company membership and stakeholders to ensure implementation and alignment of supply chain solutions. Driving business growth within portfolio of assigned accounts; key drivers are helping our members reduce costs, improve quality, achieve standardization, and eliminate waste. Responsible for establishing and maintaining professional business relationships with members, vendors, and internal teams. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, delivering high quality work in a high demand work environment, is key. Assures all business partners have an outstanding experience with HealthTrust such that they would recommend and promote our services to others

What you will do in this role:

  • Lead process improvement strategies that deliver more efficient and consistent member value
  • Provides training and helps Account Managers and Associate Account Managers advance through the Departmentโ€™s Account Management Development Plan.
  • Establishes and maintains professional business relationships, expedites HealthTrust contract participation and aligns HealthTrust service-line solutions for the benefit of assigned members.
  • Acts as liaison between members and our internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of our solutions.
  • Achieve reputation for consistent quality, process and work-flow discipline, task execution, judicious exception, and risk management.
  • Continually works to improve company and individual performance through measures of reliability, transparency, competency, sincerity, fairness, and vulnerability.
  • Collaborate with both external and internal colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvement and to deliver more efficient and consistent customer value.
  • Practices and adhere to the โ€œCode of Conductโ€ philosophy and โ€œMission and Value Statement
  • Distribution standard process alignment on multiple supplier contracts knowledge
  • Mitigation of risk through sales strategy and negotiation on mid-level accounts.
  • Serves as subject matter expert within respective and assigned area of specialty and expertise

Relationship Management

  • Manage and maintain levels of accounts to include small to medium size ASC groups, Extended Care, and annual spend up to $20 Mil per group.
  • Primary for leading Extended Care initiatives to support growth in LTC.
  • Prepares agendas and related data analytics for meetings and quarterly business reviews
  • Participates in member meetings and committees as requested.
  • Achieve company growth through direct supplier referrals, independent member onboarding, and association pipelines
  • Provide new account onboarding education to members on a GPO supply chain opportunities and compliance
  • Follow cross-department communication ensuring all account information is updated timely and accurately in our customer relationship management system
  • Develop distribution rep relationships with a minimum of 100+ field reps as a future source of new accounts and support overall alignment to distribution supplier contract. To include strategic level vendor reps and new rep education
  • Distribution standard process alignment on multiple supplier contracts knowledge
  • Mitigation of risk through sales strategy and negotiation on mid-level accounts
  • Serves as subject matter expert within respective and assigned area of specialty and expertise

Account Health

  • Utilizes vendor reported data and member spend data (via InSight or distributors) to identify compliance, conversion and tier max opportunities.
  • Identifies and shares contract opportunities, and facilitates timely contract activation.
  • Educate members on core portfolio through distributed and direct contracts, program requirements and overall benefits of GPO membership.
  • Recognize and support account maintenance and overall compliance of full portfolio penetration with additional areas of non-medical and purchased services.
  • Provide member education and guidance around standard pharmacy services, vaccine program requirements and contract purchasing adjustments.
  • Understand governance, purpose, and role of cost analytics with the ability to navigate cost conversations with both members and distributors around flexible markup
  • Ability to discuss and review contract category opportunities to improve member compliance
  • Understanding of Physician Affiliation & Management Group designations such as IPA, ACO, CI, PHO, MSO.
  • Contract portfolio expertise in extended service options to include capitol

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of healthcare industry, supply chain, GPOs
  • Excellent communication skills- able to present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization including the C-Suite
  • Executive presence- confidence, poise under pressure, decisiveness- conveying an image that is consistent with the organizationsโ€™ vision and values.
  • Passion for results- able to drive high standards for self; working to meet or exceed challenging goals.
  • Strong analytic skills- high proficiency with Excel
  • Understanding of basic contract and agreement language

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree โ€“ Preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in customer service and/or relationship building โ€“ Required
  • 1+ years of experience in market segment experience or successful record of accomplishment in strategic account management โ€“ Preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
