Job Description

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for owning, developing, and executing on a strategic plan with Convergint covering the West region and will be based in California . This strategic plan will encompass alignment with the Partner's executive leadership, engagement with sales branches and offices, and enablement of front-line sellers to drive growth and success for the Partner with the Motorola Solutions ecosystem. The BDM will also work closely with the local channel sales teams to drive execution against this plan across North America. This person is a dynamic individual who is knowledgeable and passionate about security solutions and is highly customer-focused and efficient.

Responsibilities include:

  • Take ownership and responsibility for the business relationship between Motorola Solutions and Convergint branches in the West Region.

  • Responsible for increasing Strategic Partner spend with MSI through different branches in the region.

  • Build executive-level relationships with the Strategic Partner to drive business through multiple lines of solution sales spanning the entire Motorola product ecosystem.

  • Design, build, and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the Strategic Partner. Create and implement a business plan to grow and nurture the assigned Strategic Partner, updating and modifying it quarterly to reflect market changes/innovations, and/or technology acquisitions.

  • Work with and educate the West region members across the MSI product ecosystem on how to effectively engage with the Strategic Partner and achieve maximum results. Identify key end-users and equip the team with resources to engage with contacts quickly and effectively, resulting in Motorola Solutions' differentiation, market leadership, and subject matter expertise that will help close deals.

  • Drive year-over-year growth with the assigned strategic partner

  • Create, nurture, and respond to sales opportunities and close sales orders within the assigned strategic account

  • Create, manage, and maintain sales pipelines with assigned accounts.

  • Provide product and sales training to assigned accounts to help them understand our products, including how and when to use them according to their specific applications.

  • Identify key market influencers in surveillance, establish contact with them, and demonstrate the superiority and utility of our products.

  • Participate in the development of training materials.

  • Feedback end-user customer requirements to engineering and operations departments to help implement product improvements and new product releases.

  • Create a positive work environment and utilize team-building skills with other team members and direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of video security solutions sales experience

  • Seeking 2+ years of managing National Accounts

  • Experience working with channel strategies and initiatives

  • Strong technical acumen and ability to speak about our products and solutions

  • Ability to accurately forecast revenue on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

  • Proven record of achievement in delivering sales results and developing collaborative relationships

  • A strong understanding of our go-to-market strategy and sales philosophy is required

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Time management skills are required, and candidates must have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time within the West Region

Target Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $115,000 USD
