NextEra is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Lead, Strategic Initiatives for the Engineering, Construction & Supply Chain (ECSC) organization.


Position Specific Description
The Lead, Strategic Initiatives, serves as a strategic operator responsible for executing some of the organization's most critical initiatives.
This role is intentionally designed as a blend of strategy, program management, and operational execution. The successful candidate will not simply develop recommendations—they will own implementation plans, coordinate stakeholders, establish governance structures, track progress against milestones, resolve execution challenges, and ensure sustainable adoption of solutions.
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, is comfortable influencing without authority, and possesses a bias toward action. Success in this role requires the ability to move seamlessly between executive-level strategic discussions and day-to-day execution within cross-functional teams.

  • Serve as the execution leader for strategic initiatives by converting high-level objectives into actionable workplans, establishing accountability across stakeholders.
  • Establish governance processes, operating cadences, KPI dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to monitor initiative performance.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify opportunities for and drive decisions around cost reduction, productivity improvement, inventory optimization, and process enhancement.
  • Develop executive-level presentations, business cases, recommendations, and status updates for senior leadership.
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive accountability and identify risks, dependencies, resource needs, and mitigation plans.
  • Help identify and implement technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder reviews to align priorities, accelerate decision-making, and drive change management.


Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, strategic initiatives, project management, business transformation, operations, engineering, construction, supply chain, or related disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience developing business cases and executive recommendations.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution, risk management, and measurable business impact.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive results in a matrixed organizational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Master's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Engineering Management, Supply Chain Management, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience within energy, utilities, engineering, construction, manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operations environments.
  • Experience supporting inventory management, supply chain optimization, sourcing, logistics, or asset management programs.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or related professional certification.
  • Experience developing KPI dashboards, executive reporting, or project governance routines using tools such as Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar platforms
