Strategic Finance Manager

Anrok, Inc

San Francisco, CA • On-site

$150K - $190K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision

Posted 12 days ago

Job description

Anrok is the leading tax automation platform enabling businesses to expand globally without compliance complexity.
As the digital economy has grown 6x over the last decade, software businesses have gone from not worrying about sales tax to needing to monitor exposure, calculate rates, and file returns across 50+ US jurisdictions and many countries worldwide. This creates a critical bottleneck for companies that should be able to transact with customers everywhere.
Anrok eliminates this complexity by connecting with billing and payment systems to automate tax monitoring, calculations, and filing end-to-end. Our unified platform handles the ever-changing maze of tax laws at municipal, state, and federal levels-so companies can focus on growth, not compliance.
Our customers include:
  • 40% of Forbes Top 50 AI companies
  • 20% of Forbes Top 100 Cloud companies
  • Top companies like Notion, Anthropic, and Cursor

We're making compliant digital commerce a reality for companies big and small, backed by over $100M from leading investors including Spark Capital, Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures.
We're expanding our Strategic Finance team and looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to help strengthen and scale the revenue finance function. This is a high-ownership seat for someone who wants to influence how a fast-growing SaaS company invests across its full revenue engine: sales, partnerships, marketing, and post-sale expansion. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll be the primary thought partner on all things revenue - partnering with leaders across sales, marketing, partnerships, and activation to translate financial insight into operating decisions.
This is one of the rare strategic finance seats where your customer base is your peer group - Anrok's product is bought by Finance teams at the fastest-growing software companies in the world. You'll think like an operator and learn from the operators on the other side of the table. A great fit for someone with strong analytical foundations, comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage company, and energized by scaling a function rather than maintaining one.
In this role, you will:
  • Own financial planning and forecasting across the full revenue org - new business, expansion, partnerships, and marketing
  • Bring financial perspective into territory design, quota capacity, marketing investment, partnership economics, and post-sale expansion strategy - working alongside the Head of Finance to influence GTM decisions
  • Own CAC payback as the primary GTM efficiency metric across segments, channels, and motions; surface what's working and what isn't
  • Model contribution margin and gross margin by customer segment, product line, and acquisition channel
  • Maintain the ARR waterfall - new logo, expansion, contraction, churn - and reconcile to billing actuals
  • Support board materials, investor diligence prep, and scenario modeling for strategic decisions
  • Run ad hoc analyses spanning competitive benchmarking, pricing sensitivity, market expansion economics, and capital allocation tradeoffs
  • Build AI workflows for recurring revenue finance analysis using the team's AI-native tooling stack (Omni, Salesforce, Python, n8n, Claude) - reducing manual cycles and unlocking deeper analytical work
  • This role is currently an IC role and structured to grow with the function - as Anrok scales, so does the scope and ownership of this seat

What excites us:
  • 4+ years in investment banking, private equity, or venture investing - you can build a model from scratch, stress-test assumptions, and know what "good" looks like across business stages
  • 2+ years in a strategic finance or FP&A role supporting GTM functions - sales, marketing, partnerships, or post-sale
  • Deep fluency in B2B SaaS revenue metrics: pipeline coverage, SQO creation, CAC payback, NRR, magic number, contribution margin, and channel economics
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in AI-assisted workflows and automation (Python, n8n, LLM-based tooling, or equivalent) - you build automation into your workflow rather than waiting for someone else to
  • Comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage startup - you operate well without a perfect playbook, prioritize ruthlessly, and turn ambiguous problems into structured analyses on your own
  • Excellent communication skills-able to present to executives and influence decision-making
  • You're curious and motivated to learn new tools - you've experimented with AI in your work or on your own, you're excited about what's possible, and you've built something with it (an application, a workflow, a creative solution to a real problem) that you can walk us through.

What we offer:
  • The equity upside of an early-stage startup with the product-market fit of a later-stage company.
  • Daily lunch and snacks for those working out of our office hubs.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance covered 100%.
  • One Medical membership covered, flexible sick benefits, and more.
  • Annual learning and development stipend for books, online courses, and conferences, as well as a curious team to share your learnings with.
  • Home internet reimbursement stipend.
  • Wellness reimbursement program.
  • Annual team off-sites and in-person opportunities around our growing Anrok hubs.
  • Home office setup stipend to ensure you have the equipment you need to thrive at work.

At Anrok, we embrace a dynamic and flexible hybrid work environment based out of our growing office hubs - San Francisco, New York City, Salt Lake City, and Dublin where we collaborate in-person 3 days per week.
Please be aware, job-seekers may be at risk of targeting by malicious actors looking for personal data. Anrok recruiters will only reach out via LinkedIn or email with an anrok.com domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Anrok via other sources should be ignored.
