Job description

GridSource is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to serve as the central point of coordination, communication, and escalation between GridSource and one of our largest telecommunications clients. This is a senior, client-facing role for someone who can step into a fast-moving environment and build credibility quickly. You will own the day-to-day health of the relationship - driving alignment across internal teams, keeping commitments on track, and making sure issues are surfaced and resolved before they become problems.
About the Role
The Strategic Account Manager is the connective tissue between our field operations and the client's leadership. You will translate client priorities into clear internal action, keep both sides aligned on status and risk, and represent GridSource in market visits and quarterly business reviews. Success in this role depends on strong relationship management, disciplined follow-through, and fluency in the services our division delivers: Broadband Installation and Repair, Buried Service Wire, and Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) greenfield and retrofit installation. As the division grows, this role has the potential to expand into building and leading a team.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship & Communication Management
  • Serve as the single point of contact between the client and GridSource internal teams, owning the cadence and quality of communication in both directions.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders and with GridSource operations, field, and leadership teams.
  • Keep all parties aligned on priorities, status, and expectations across multiple concurrent projects and markets.

Meeting Cadence & Business Reviews
  • Coordinate and run recurring business meetings - weekly and monthly syncs - keeping them focused, on-agenda, and action-oriented.
  • Prepare and present Quarterly Business Review (QBR) materials, including performance data, service health, and forward-looking plans, to client and executive audiences.
  • Translate operational metrics into a clear narrative of value delivered and risks to address.

Action Ownership & Internal Follow-Through
  • Develop, own, and track action items from client meetings through to completion.
  • Drive internal follow-up across operations, scheduling, and leadership to ensure commitments are met on time.
  • Maintain accurate, current tracking of open items, decisions, and deadlines, and provide status updates between formal reviews.

Escalation & Problem Resolution
  • Identify risks, delays, and issues early, and exercise sound judgment on what to escalate, to whom, and how.
  • Coordinate resolution across teams, keeping stakeholders informed until issues are closed.
  • Anticipate recurring problems and drive durable fixes, not one-off responses.

Market Presence & Travel
  • Travel to active markets to build relationships, observe field execution, and represent GridSource on-site.
  • Use market visits to strengthen client trust and to ground internal follow-up in first-hand understanding.

Minimum Qualifications
Core Competencies (Required)
  • Strong customer-first orientation - consistently responsive, follow-up-driven, and focused on the client's experience.
  • Excellent communication and responsiveness across written, verbal, and in-person settings.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and run recurring business meetings - weekly, monthly, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) - including preparing and presenting materials.
  • Sound judgment and professionalism in handling escalations, including deciding what to escalate, to whom, and how.

Experience & Logistics
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in one or more of the services this role supports (Broadband Installation and Repair, Buried Service Wire, or MDU greenfield/retrofit installation), combined with professional account or client management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to come up to speed quickly in a dynamic, multi-project environment.
  • Proven follow-through - a track record of owning commitments and driving them to completion across teams.
  • Ability to travel 30-50% to markets across GridSource's service footprint.
  • Based within reasonable distance of a major airport (remote role).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in telecommunications field services or construction coordination.
  • Experience managing a single large client relationship end to end.
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior staff; interest in building and leading a team of junior account managers as the business grows.
  • Knowledge of MDU bulk deployments, fiber/coax infrastructure, and service activation.
  • Familiarity with project tracking, reporting, and account-health tools.

Work Environment
  • Remote role; may be based anywhere near a major airport. Preferred locations include Texas, Florida, Oregon, Idaho, and Arizona, though strong candidates in any location will be considered.
  • 30-50% travel to active markets across GridSource's service footprint.
  • Frequent coordination with cross-functional internal teams and client stakeholders.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes
  • Pay Weekly
  • Health, Vision, & Dental Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401k Plan
  • Paid sick leave in accordance with any applicable state or municipal laws
