Job Summary
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper assists the senior housekeeping supervisor with maintaining cleanliness and an attractive appearance in guest accommodations and public spaces in accordance with hotel standards. Responsible for supervision of housekeepers on floors.
Inspects all rooms on floors, corrects deficiencies, and advises supervisor on deficiencies. Makes sure that all housekeepers have the proper and necessary equipment and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting Executive Housekeeper in supervising the activities of maids and housemen.
  • Referring guest complaints to Executive Housekeeper.
  • Assisting in the training and scheduling of housekeeping personnel.
  • Making daily checks of rooms and facilities to ensure that cleanliness standards have been met.
  • Collecting housekeepers' vacancy reports.
  • Keeping in touch with the Housekeeping Office for check-outs.
  • Reporting needed repairs such as lights out or leaky faucets, etc.
  • Reporting to Executive Housekeeper any personal items left behind by guests.
  • Approving rooms for occupancy.
  • Checking all housekeepers' reports.
  • Making sure there is no waste of products and materials. Responsible for linen, blankets, and room standards.
  • Making sure that all maids handle supplies with care. Responsible for a variety of cleaning equipment.
  • Completing duties and confirming them on shift checklist as assigned.
  • Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements
  • Must have experience as an inspector or supervisor of housekeeping department
  • Ability to work any day of the week and work overtime as needed. Weekends required.
  • Must be able to perform all functions of the Housekeeping department if needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team and share feedback in a positive way
  • Ability to respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred. Other languages in addition to English is a plus
  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels, communicate with guests about job-related needs and communicate with all employees in hotel

Work Environment
