Job description

Job Summary:
Goldman Sachs is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm. They are seeking an Associate-level Scrum Master to facilitate Agile events, coach teams in Agile practices, and ensure adherence to Scrum principles to enhance team performance and client value delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and support Agile events including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
• Coach engineers, designers, product owners and subject matter experts in Agile practices, values and principles
• Ensure Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines
• Guide team members in story writing and refinement, backlog maintenance, prioritization and planning
• Facilitate creation and prioritization of program-level feature and architectural backlogs
• Work with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role
• Track and remove impediments, and guide the team to remove impediments
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent
• Exemplifies and promotes agile values and principles
• Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
• Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. SAFe, Scrum, Kanban), understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
• Comfortable with Scrum concepts like refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques
• Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams
• Facilitate and support Agile events including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
• Coach engineers, designers, product owners and subject matter experts in Agile practices, values and principles
• Ensure Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines
• Guide team members in story writing and refinement, backlog maintenance, prioritization and planning
• Facilitate creation and prioritization of program-level feature and architectural backlogs
• Work with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role
• Track and remove impediments, and guide the team to remove impediments
Preferred:
• Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA
• 5 years of product or project development experience, or 5 years of project development experience on an Agile Team or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
