Job description

Position: Storeroom Coordinator
Work Location: Fontana, CA 92337
Pay rate: $25.00/hr
Duration: 3+ Months role with high chances of extension/conversion
Shift: (Mon - Fri) 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Dress Code: steel-toed boots, long pants and a long-sleeve shirt with at least 35% cotton blend, wear the site-provided hard hat and safety glasses
 
Job Description:
Responsible for administering store materials for the Maintenance and other departments. Responsible for assisting in the determination of inventory levels; minimum/maximum quantities; and the requisitioning, storage, issuance and control of materials. The incumbent is accountable for the best use of all the resources under their control.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that maintenance and other users have available, when and where needed, the necessary materials required to operate the Plant.
  • Coordinate the efforts of other users, purchasing, and accounting in determination and maintenance of inventory levels and determination of and adjusting of minimum/maximum quantities.
  • Sets up and maintains an adequate tool control system.
  • Ensure that an adequate and usable supply of tools is available for use by the maintenance function.
  • Receive deliveries, organize stock in designated locations, and perform cycle counts
  • Maintain and is responsible for updating the Maximo inventory database.
  • Follow up and expedite material requisitions to assist in the timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain an adequate system for physically locating and storing materials.
  • Set up and maintain a system for controlling the issue of materials.
  • Ensure that storerooms and warehouses are maintained in a safe, orderly and clean condition.
  • Receive all materials required for operations and maintenance of the Plant.
  • Pick and have available when required, all materials for work orders listed on the daily work schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Skills (entry, intermediate, advanced):
  • Familiar with standard Manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Computer software and personal computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and precision measurement tools such as dial calipers and
  • precision rule
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and shop drawings
  • General knowledge/skills (entry, intermediate, advanced):
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery
  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone
  • Occasionally operate business machines
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
  • Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading
 
Education and Experience:
  • High school graduate or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years applying technical experience in an industrial setting
