Job description

About Us

Dutch Vet is transforming veterinary care by making expert treatment accessible anytime, anywhere. Our mission is simple: help every pet live their happiest, healthiest life by connecting pet parents with licensed vets through seamless virtual visits.

We’re the only veterinary telemedicine service that can diagnose, prescribe, and ship medications directly to customers in most states. For less than $100 per year, Dutch offers real relief and convenience for pets and their families.

As one customer put it: “Dutch was the only site that would diagnose and prescribe meds as well as ship the meds.”

Here’s what other customers have said about Dutch Vet:

"The easiest vet visit you'll ever have.”

"More thorough than my in-person vet.”

"No nonsense, quick, easy and friendly veterinarian. Much cheaper than our regular local vet that couldn’t get us in. So glad I found Dutch!"

Backed by world-class investors including Forerunner Ventures, Eclipse Ventures, and Bling Capital, our team is made-up of successful startup founders (Hims, PlushCare, Nasty Gal) with expertise in scaling enterprises (TripAdvisor, Walmart, BARK). Featured in TechCrunch, Forbes, Wired, and Axios, Dutch is setting the standard for quality, accessibility, and compassion in pet care.

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager- Ecommerce to own and grow Dutch’s e-commerce business — spanning both prescription and non-prescription products. This is a senior role with broad scope: you will set the strategy, identify the highest-value opportunities, determine what it takes to deliver on them, and work collaboratively across the organization to make it happen. You will have enormous latitude to define what this business becomes.

You are a natural opportunity-spotter: you see gaps in the market, ask what it would take to capture them, and rally the right people to get it done. You will also lead the complete reimagination of our product storefront — a greenfield effort that requires deep ecommerce expertise, strong commercial instincts, and tight collaboration with design, product management, and engineering.

Our unfair advantage is our data. Dutch’s EMR and vet-issued recommendations give us unparalleled insight into what individual pets need — spanning everything from prescription medications to everyday wellness products — enabling a personalization engine no traditional pet retailer can replicate. You will work closely with our AI team to translate that data advantage into highly relevant, high-converting product and prescription recommendations for every pet parent on our platform.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN:

Strategy & P&L Ownership

  • Own the full P&L for Dutch’s ecommerce business — across both prescription and non-prescription products — setting targets, tracking performance, and driving accountability across revenue, margin, and profitability.

  • Proactively identify the highest-value opportunities for product sales — assessing market signals, platform data, and customer needs — then determine what is required to pursue them and drive cross-functional execution to deliver.

  • Define and evolve the product assortment strategy across both prescription and OTC categories — balancing pet-health relevance, commercial potential, and brand trust.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor moves, and emerging product categories to keep Dutch ahead of the curve.

AI-Powered Personalization

  • Partner deeply with Dutch's AI team to build a personalized product recommendation engine grounded in our EMR data and vet-issued insights — creating experiences no traditional retailer can match.

  • Define the data inputs, recommendation logic, and feedback loops needed to surface the right products to the right pet parents at the right moment.

  • Champion a data-first culture across the commerce business: use analytics to prioritize, test, learn, and iterate quickly.

Storefront, Merchandising & Commerce Experience

  • Lead the full reimagination of Dutch’s product storefront — from concept through execution — partnering closely with our Creative Director, UX Lead, and Engineering team to build an experience that is both vet-credible and commercially effective.

  • Own the merchandising strategy: curate and manage product collections, design promotional calendars, and think holistically about how categories, bundles, and campaigns work together to drive conversion and repeat purchase.

  • Define and implement the right selling mechanisms across Rx and OTC — subscriptions, auto-refills, bundles, vet-recommended collections, and promotional offers — ensuring a cohesive experience that feels tailored, not transactional.

  • Own the conversion funnel and continuously optimize through testing and iteration.

Assortment Management

  • Manage the underlying data that brings out products to life and create a strategy around how we store and maintain metadata for our products

  • Manage the product catalog lifecycle — from onboarding to performance review and sunset decisions.

  • Continuously scout for hot new products, emerging brands, and category innovations that align with our pet parents' needs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in product management in ecommerce, marketplace, or consumer product businesses — with a track record of driving meaningful revenue growth, preferably within a startup environment

  • Demonstrated experience owning a P&L and managing to margin and profitability targets, not just top-line metrics.

  • Deep comfort with data: you know how to read it, question it, and turn it into decisions and recommendations.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, and data science teams to build and ship.

  • Strong commercial instincts — you can identify a market opportunity, build a business case, and execute a plan to capture it.

  • Exceptional drive and self-motivation: you set ambitious goals, hold yourself accountable, and find a way to win.

  • Curiosity that does not quit — you are always asking why, looking for the next edge, and learning fast.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in pet, health & wellness, or subscription ecommerce.

  • Background working with AI/ML-powered personalization or recommendation systems.

  • Experience leading a storefront or marketplace redesign from concept to launch.

  • Familiarity with vendor negotiations, wholesale buying, or marketplace supplier management.

  • Startup or high-growth company experience where resourcefulness and speed were table stakes.

WHY WORK FOR DUTCH:
  • Competitive salary $180,000

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Life and Disability Insurance

  • Flexible PTO

  • Mental Wellbeing Options

  • Robust Holiday Schedule

  • Retirement savings plan

  • Growth Opportunities

  • Significant growth trajectory — you will be building something that matters, at scale, right now.
  • True ownership: this is your business to define, build, and grow. Real authority, real accountability, real upside.

  • Unique data advantage: Dutch's EMR and vet-recommendation dataset is a moat no competitor can easily replicate.

  • Mission that resonates: we are genuinely improving the health and happiness of pets and the families who love them.

  • Collaborative, high-talent team that moves fast, debates hard, and ships with care.

Dutch is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply — we hire for drive, curiosity, and craft.

DUTCH'S GUIDING PRINCIPLES:
  • Pets First – business and medical decisions are always guided by the pet's best interest. We'll never compromise on pet health and we're all here because we care about their well-being

  • Agile Like a Cat – We have a bias toward swift action, while maintaining quality and accuracy. For us, that means being able to turn on a dime, like a cat, analyze our options – even ones that may not be on the table – then execute without perfection getting in the way

  • Creativity is our Catnip – Creativity feeds us and helps us push boundaries to always find better solutions, making the complex more accessible and easier to understand

  •  Be the Human Your Dog Thinks You Are – Be kind, show care for your colleagues, and even if you're an expert - give others context, reinforce the positive, and help them understand.

Dutch is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or any other protected status. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
