Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assist with managing daily C-Store operations.
  • Supervise C-Store Associates to achieve financial, operational and guest service expectations.
  • Operate cash register and associated equipment, and perform currency transactions.
  • Direct and participate in the stocking and merchandising of the sales floor, including maximizing the capacity of selling fixture, visual presentations and floor models.
  • Assist C-Store Manager in the acquisition and development of an adequate pool of staff to support the planned sales and service objectives of the store.
  • Assist in the development and execution of programs and practices which foster a high-motivation, high-productivity and customer-driven culture.
  • Assist C-Store Manager with the coordination of local sales promotions and public relations activities in the community.
  • Assist C-Store Manager in the development and execution of programs which provide for optimum protection of company assets against loss due to internal/external theft, inaccurate recordkeeping and wastage.
  • Provide leadership and support concerning operation issues, including staffing, safety, special services, housekeeping, maintenance, bookkeeping, cashier functions and adherence to standards, policies and procedures.
  • Plan and prepare work schedules, and assign employees to specific duties.
  • Supervise employees who are engaged in sales work, taking of inventories and reconciling cash with sales receipts.
  • Perform duties of C-Store Associates as needed, included working as a cashier.
  • Ensure employee compliance with established security, sales and recordkeeping policies and procedures.
  • Address customer complaints and inquiries, both in person and by phone, while maintaining a professional attitude and projecting a positive image for the company.
  • Prepare daily sales reports, weekly schedules and weekly layaway reports.
  • Lock and secure store.
  • Ensure safety and security of store, employees and customers.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of customer service, cash-handling and retail experience; 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Knowledge of cash register operations, sales methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of retail guest service standards.
  • Knowledge of retail store maintenance and operations.
